Take a picture of your existing keypad and or master control panel (see the example here).
When taking a picture of a traditional alarm system (typically in the basement), open the door to the control panel and take 3 pictures. One of the control panel board (see photo here), one of the control panel door (typically has a schematic and model #), and then back up and take a picture of the whole wall.
